If you are reading this letter, your life has been impacted by Borderline Personality Disorder. You have probably experienced difficulties finding reliable information, support and effective treatment. TARA has a long-term plan for improving the lives of people with BPD. Please help us meet our goals to bring hope to BPD. Our goals:
Encourage NEW BPD Research
Inspire students via contact with cutting-edge research
Raise awareness of your BPD experiences through
TARA Grassroots Research surveys
Teach TARA Methodology so families can help effectively
Decrease stigma against people with BPD and families
Thank you for your generous support that allowed us to bring Diana Ban, a TARA student intern, to her first international BPD Conference, held in Mannheim, Germany, and Boris Litvin to his first neuroscience conference, the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology in Hollywood, Florida in December 2018.
Please make a donation to TARA. Any amount, large or small, will help us to continue our work to help you. Our goal is to ensure that you are aware of the latest advances in research and treatment. We also want to inspire students to study BPD by exposing them to cutting-edge BPD research.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
Valerie Porr and all of us at TARA
International BPD Conference: Mannheim, Germany
First TARA Intern to Attend an International Conference
Diana has been interning at TARA for the past 1 1/2 years. She is an integral part of TARA’s Grassroots Science Initiatives. Here she is with Christian Schmahl (middle) and another American student (Chris) at the Mannheim Palace in Germany.
TARA Star Award Recipients
The conference celebrated the research and treatment achievements of the Mannheim and Heidelberg BPD Centers led by Martin Bohus, MD, Sabine Herpertz, MD & Christian Schmahl, MD.
TARA made a surprise presentation of the TARA Star Award to each of them for their dedication and devotion to finding a way to help those with BPD.
Boris Litvin’s Conference Experience
“I am grateful to TARA4BPD donors for giving me the opportunity to attend the cutting-edge neuroscience seminars and poster sessions, present TARA’s Poster: Familial Relationship Between BPD and Autism, and network at the ACNP 2018 conference. This, my first conference experience, gave me new ideas about my future career. My heartfelt thanks to all of you!”
